Description

Begin your adventure with a visit to the Big Buddha Temple, Samui's most famous landmark. Marvel at the large statue of Lord Buddha, which sits 50 feet high on a hilltop of a small island (Koh Fann) on the north coast. Walk up the steps to the big gallery for a spectacular view. Next, head to the Plai Laem Temple, a century-old temple featuring a striking white 18-arm statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. Experience the living and active temple where devotees come daily to pay homage, pray, and meditate. Feed the fish in the surrounding pond by donation. Continue to the Laad Koh View Point and admire the spectacular panoramic view of Chaweng Beach, the longest beach on the island. Visit the Grandfather & Grandmother Rocks, a marvelous natural formation on Koh Samui's south coast. These rocks, fashioned by the elements, resemble male and female genitalia, creating a lot of humorous interest from tourists. Learn about the legend explaining how the rocks came into being. Stop at the Guan-Yu Koh Samui Shrine, a notable historical attraction symbolizing China's influence on Thailand's rich and colorful history. Pay respect to the mummified body of Luang Por Daeng at Kunaram Temple. The sacrosanct for natives, he died more than 40 years ago in a sitting position of meditation, and his body shows few signs of any major decay. Finally, visit Namuang Waterfall I, a majestic set of two cascades on Koh Samui. Take a walk path from the entrance of the parking to reach the impressive wide drop of 15m height cascade to a natural pool below.
