The spa is located inside the Meliá hotel. The facilities are super nice and luxurious, featuring both individual and double private rooms that come fully equipped with a toilet, a shower, a bathtub, a safe, a sink, towels, and brand-new massage beds. They also provide disposable underwear for you to change into before your treatment begins. However, the massage itself did not fully live up to the luxury environment. The therapists are decent, but not particularly skilled. We tried one if the signature massages as a couple, and what they market as aromatherapy is simply standard scented oil. They also promoted this massage as including Lomilomi style and it wasn't the case. Furthermore, the Tibetan singing bowl therapy lasted for only about five minutes at the very end of the session. They just strike the bowl and move it near your ears, and it did not feel like they entirely knew how to use it properly. While the massage was relaxing overall, it was extremely expensive for what it turned out to be. We actually left with doubts about whether the staff are fully trained, full-time massage therapists. To make matters worse, we felt misled when we received the bill. We discovered at the end that the prices we were originally quoted did not include VAT. They also tacked on a 10% service charge without any prior warning. You can easily get a much higher quality massage at many local spots on the street for less than a third of the price of this hotel spa.
We did a soulmate retreat 90mins package that included a 60mins full body massage with a 30min facial. The massage was so refreshing and perfect after a flight! One of the softest massage beds ever too!
