Lovely, friendly, open air airport. Owned by Bangkok Airways, so most flights are their own planes, but Scoot also uses it. All boarding & deplaning is by steps and buses / buggies. Plenty of food outlets both landside & airside. Lots of seating. Several souvenir shops plus a reasonable duty selection. We were off the plane, collected bags and through immigration & customs in a few minutes. Taxis can pull up kerbside right outside. Money exchange facilities there but not the best rates. Some of the larger hotels have representatives and desks in the arrivals hall. A great little airport. Try not to change too much as you are great as you are.
A charming island airport with a unique tropical atmosphere. Koh Samui Airport stands out for its open-air design, lush tropical landscaping, and relaxed island vibe. Unlike most airports, it feels more like a resort than a transportation hub, creating a pleasant first impression of the island. The surroundings are beautiful and reflect the character of Koh Samui perfectly. That said, there is definitely room for improvement, particularly in terms of services and overall efficiency. While the airport is small and welcoming, some facilities and operations could be enhanced to provide a smoother passenger experience. Overall, it’s a memorable airport that captures the essence of island travel.
Samui International Airport is hands down one of the most charming airports in the world. From the moment you arrive, it feels more like a luxury tropical resort than a typical transport hub thanks to its unique open-air design and beautiful thatched-roof buildings. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing with lush gardens and breezy walkways that make the usual travel stress melt away. One of the best highlights is the generous hospitality, especially the complimentary snack and drink station available to passengers. While it is a private airport with higher flight prices, the sheer convenience, cleanliness, and the warm "boutique" feel make it a truly exceptional gateway to the island.
This is the coolest airport ever seen. Totally different from all airports. Although its small in size, doesn't have a lot of tourists coming. But still very cool and chilled out vibes. The only disadvantage is in summers the lack of AC can trouble the visitors. Also, the bathrooms are not very clean as per airport standards.
One of the most unique airports I’ve seen. Instead of the typical closed terminals, everything is open-air and surrounded by tropical gardens, which makes the whole place feel more like a resort than an airport. The airport is quite small but very well organized. Check-in, security, and boarding are usually quick and efficient, which makes the whole experience very smooth. There are also some small shops and places to grab a drink or a snack while waiting for your flight. Overall, a very pleasant airport experience and a great way to start or finish your trip to Koh Samui. Definitely one of the most charming airports in Thailand.
