I stayed here with my partner from March 13–24, 2026. Lipa Lodge is in a fantastic, peaceful location on the west coast. The food is excellent, and the reception staff was very helpful with organizing excursions and our 3-day car rental. Taxis to Chaweng are also reasonably priced. The rooms are a bit dated and some gadgets and outlets did not work. We would recommend booking a bungalow next time instead of the rooms. The staff members are the absolute highlight; always friendly and offering great room service when needed. However, they were put in a tough spot when one of the owners (Chinese lady) arrived with an entourage. Her presence was dominant and uncomfortable for paying guests. Her group blocked the best pool loungers, and the staff was so busy catering to her that regular service suffered. They even closed the pool for a deep clean the day before she arrived just for her visit. Except for the owner's lack of consideration for paying guests, it is a very nice hotel, and the lovely staff made it a wonderful trip for us.
We had a wonderful break. Outstanding beachfront location, friendly attentive service, beautiful spacious room and fantastic fresh food prepared to order. Pool, gardens and beach have a perfect relaxed vibe and dozing on the large veranda is perfect! The whole team were excellent - room cleaning, bar, restaurant, reception and poolside. Blissful massages outside by the beach and fresh seafood dinners make for perfect memories...
Stayed at Lipa Lodge Beach Resort and didn’t expect much—but somehow, it slowed me down in the best way. It’s not flashy. It’s quiet, simple, and strangely comforting. The kind of place where the sound of the sea fills in the silence you didn’t know you needed. The room was consistently clean—like someone genuinely cared, not just did their job. Breakfast was simple, but with that ocean view, it felt like enough. Nothing here tries too hard. And maybe that’s exactly why it stays with you. 🌊
I do not recommend this hotel. You need to be careful. The breakfasts served in the hotel are really disgusting. Thailand has incredibly cheap and delicious food everywhere, yet here every morning they serve fried, unhealthy, low-quality products. It is honestly shocking and I cannot understand how a hotel can serve something like this to guests. Additionally, the toilet got clogged twice and sewage actually came back up from the drain into the bathroom. That is completely unacceptable. The only positive thing is the location directly by the beach and the staff who take care of the local dogs — that is why I am giving 2 stars. However, I definitely do not recommend staying here. It is honestly embarrassing for a hotel to operate at this level.
My wife and I planned to be in Thailand for a week, and not on the beach. Life had other plans. On day 1 my retina detached. We were in Udon Thani. After an emergency surgery we had to stay in Thailand for a few weeks. We decided to spend a week in Koh Samui and I got the last spot in Lipa Lodge, a one bedroom with beach view. We picked it because the Lipa Noi area is less touristy and sunset facing. The island is small enough that $10 taxi will get you anywhere. We were not disappointed. Lipa Lodge is beautiful. The gardens, pool, beach and buildings are designed with privacy and simplicity. The staff is just a bunch of relaxed, joyful people that made every part of our stay delightful. The breakfast buffet was delicious with omelette to order, good strong coffee, an assortment of fruit and another Thai dish or two. The pool is meticulously maintained and the beach is right off the gardens, private and serene. The room itself was very well designed and more than big enough for a couple to get romantic without getting on each other :) We had an amazing week of rest and so looking forward to coming back. I think we found our vacation spot!
