I absolutely loved my stay at this resort. It was very calm and sirene. The staff was kind and patient with me and all of my questions (I tend to be a curious person), especially the lady at the front desk. My accomodation was simple and clean. It was the perfect start for my vacation and being there, a little away from rush and busy night life, helped me calm down and get into vacation mode. Also, the view from the beach there is amazing.
A true hidden gem and a beautiful reminder of what Koh Samui was before the rush of modern development. AM Resort Taling Ngam is not just a place to stay—it is an experience of authentic island life, preserved with charm, simplicity, and genuine Thai hospitality. From the moment you arrive, there is a sense of peace that is almost impossible to find in today's world. The resort sits on a generous expanse of beachfront land, surrounded by tropical greenery, with plenty of space to breathe, relax, and reconnect with nature. There is no artificial feeling here; this is the real Samui, moving at the gentle rhythm that made the island famous. The rooms are incredibly spacious, immaculately maintained, and surprisingly luxurious for the price point. The bathrooms are particularly impressive—lavishly spacious with plenty of room to unwind and refresh after a day in the sun. The air-conditioning is gloriously ice cold, a blessing in the tropical heat, and the beds are so comfortable that I genuinely slept like a baby every single night. The family who runs the resort are among its greatest assets. Their kindness, warmth, and authenticity cannot be manufactured by any five-star chain. You are treated not like a room number, but as a welcomed guest returning home. The food deserves a special mention. The kitchen produces authentic Thai dishes cooked fresh to order almost unbelievably quickly, yet without compromising quality or flavour. The menu is extensive, the portions are generous, and whether you are looking for a light snack or a feast fit for a king, there is something to satisfy every appetite. The beachfront itself has a quiet, natural beauty. The shoreline is decorated with local shells and framed by stunning sea views. While the coral reef has faced the challenges that many reefs around the world have experienced, the area remains full of life, with natural algae growth, small marine creatures, and a rugged coastal ecosystem that gives the beach a unique and untouched character. Perhaps the most astonishing aspect of AM Resort is the value for money. In an era where many hotels charge premium prices for a manufactured "luxury" experience, this resort delivers something far more valuable: space, authenticity, tranquillity, genuine smiles, and a connection to the soul of old Samui. I have stayed here before, and without hesitation, I will return again. Places like this are becoming increasingly rare. For those who remember the golden days of Samui—or those who wish to discover what made the island magical in the first place—AM Resort Taling Ngam is a place that deserves to be treasured. Some resorts sell perfection. AM Resort offers something far more meaningful: paradise exactly as nature intended it.
The resort is located in a beautiful part of the island and offers a very relaxing atmosphere overall. It is spacious, with a nice swimming pool and a private beach. I stayed in both a beach house and one of the newly renovated rooms in the main building, and I definitely preferred the renovated room. However, the WiFi connection was very poor throughout my stay. Another downside was the service. The staff did not seem particularly engaged or motivated, which was noticeable in their overall attitude. Unfortunately, I also forgot some clothes after checking out. I contacted the hotel about this, but they were unable to locate them, which was disappointing. To end on a positive note: there is a cool muay thai gym around the corner :)
The best accommodation on Koh Samui! And that says a lot, because we’ve explored the whole island—we’ve stayed in Chaweng, Lamai, and other areas, but we always find ourselves happiest returning to Am Samui Resort. This was already our second year staying here, and I can only highly recommend it. Truly the best place we’ve ever stayed at! We also had our wedding at the resort this year, and everything was absolutely beautiful and exactly as we imagined. A big thank you to Tracy for organizing everything so perfectly!❤️❤️❤️
I really loved this hotel! The staff at the reception were super friendly and gave the best service. The food was amazing especially Pad Thai, it was so delicious! The whole place is quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by greenery. The beach and the sea are absolutely beautiful. The only small downsides were that the room lock was a bit low and tricky to use, and the shower water pressure wasn’t very strong. If they fix these, it would be perfect. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for real peace and relaxation. 🌴✨
