Sure. Several of the leading restaurants on Samui do offer exceptional meat dishes on their menus. But not one of them has gone all the way and announced itself as a bona fide 'steakhouse', offering a full range of the highest quality imported meats. Until now that is. Introducing Ochos, Samui's first top restaurant to provide an exceptional dining experience for true carnivores.
Located at AKARYN, a brand new resort in Choeng Mon,Ochos is, quite simply, exciting and outstanding. Inside the air-conditioned restaurant there's an open 'show' kitchen with ten stools along the counter and two 'community' tables for eight (naturally!) where guests are encouraged to eat alongside other diners, creating a great convivial atmosphere. And outside in the balmy night air under the stars, there's a terrace overlooking the attractive swimming directly ahead and the beach over to the left, which has four candlelit tables for two, for those preferring their own company.
Although the main emphasis is on the various imported red meat at Ochos, they do have a selection of locally produced white meat (chicken and pork) too, as well as freshly caught fish and seafood dishes (they serve a delicious paella!). So, if you're not a 'true' meat-lover, you'll still have plenty to choose from.
Ochos is nothing short of incredible. And what with the fabulous range of perfectly cooked meats, a superb wine list, the super location, great ambience and unexpectedly reasonable prices, this restaurant is most definitely worth a visit, and comes highly recommended, whether you're a confirmed carnivore or not!
