Start your trip with pickup from your accommodations before heading to a trusted bicycle shop for a briefing and personalized bicycle fitting. Your instructor will make sure you have the most appropriate bike as well as brief you on the safety and traffic rules of the area. Once you’re all set, head to the first destination of the day: Bang Rak Market. This fresh market is where the locals go to get their produce. Spend some time taking in the sights and smells of the wide array fo fresh produce and spices sold here. Next, bike to the Big Buddha is a large temple complex on the northeastern side of Koh Samui, known for its massive 12-meter Buddha statue atop a flight of stairs. Explore the temple grounds, take photos of the imposing Buddha statue, and marvel at the surrounding views. Then, head to another colorful temple complex, Wat Plai Laem, where you’ll find two other large and looming statues. One is Guanyin, the 18-armed goddess of mercy and compassion; the other is of a large laughing monk. Listen as your guide explains the use of both Chinese and Thai architecture making Wat Plai Laem unique among its peers. After visiting the two temples, your next stop is Choeng Mon Beach for some R&R. Relax on the sandy shores, take a quick dip in the clear waters, or stroll along the stretch of coastline before moving on to your next destination. End your cycling tour at the famous Fisherman’s Village, known for its myriad stalls and kiosks perfect for souvenir shopping and enjoying a good meal. Eat a tasty lunch to replenish your energy before you make your way back to the bicycle shop, and from there, your accommodation.
