Indian Restaurants in Koh Samui

Indian food in Koh Samui isn’t hard to find if you know where to look, but the scene isn’t as crowded as Thai spots, which is kind of a relief. You’ll find a handful of places where the spices hit just right and don’t shy away from heat. It’s mostly around Chaweng and Lamai where Indian restaurants gather, but don’t overlook smaller joints near Fisherman’s Village that locals love for a quieter meal.

One of my favorites is Tandoori Nights in Chaweng , their butter chicken is rich but not greasy, and the garlic naan is just the way it should be. If you want something less touristy, check out Bollywood Indian Cuisine down a side street in Lamai. It’s low-key but serves great thali platters at very reasonable prices. Oh, and pro tip: Many places here close earlier than you’d expect, so dinner reservations or early dining help, especially in low season.

If you’re craving street-style chaats or fresh samosas, it’s best to ask locals or expats where the current best spots are,these pop-ups sometimes don’t show up on maps but are worth chasing down. And hey, don’t forget to try a mango lassi alongside your meal, especially if you’re nursing a little too much spicy curry!
