Pizza might not be what first comes to mind when you think of Koh Samui, but the island’s got a surprisingly solid lineup of spots serving up wood-fired and oven-baked crusts that hit the spot. If you’re staying near Chaweng or Lamai, you’ll find more options, but even the quieter corners around Maenam and Bophut have some real gems.

One of my favorites is Oven 88 in Fisherman’s Village,small, cozy, and they know how to handle dough and toppings with care. Don’t miss their spicy salami pizza if you like a bit of heat. Or try the classic Margherita at Pizza di Casa, which feels like it was plucked right out of Naples. I also like how many places here incorporate local touches, like fresh Thai basil or even seafood toppings, so you get that island twist.

A tip? Avoid eating pizza right after a big beach day when you’re super hungry,you’ll want to pace yourself because the portions here can be surprisingly generous, especially if you order a side of buffalo wings or a salad. And if you like your pizza with a cold Chang beer, you’re in luck. Just remember that in the rainy season, some smaller places might close early, so plan accordingly.
