We had the BEST dinner at Galanga, as part of our honeymoon trip! The food is the best we have had in Samui and our server Mr Yau was so charming and kind. Cannot recommend this place enough!
This restaurant is quite large, larger than it looks from the outside. We came in after a more refined experience. Service is fine and friendly, but the english proficiency is quite low to non existent amongst some of the staff which is a shame especially since this is a restaurant aimed at Westerners. The food is okay, but quite expensive for what you get. The serving sizes, even by Thai standards, is quite small. We ordered a Roti for 250 baht (with service charge and VAT on top of that). Instead of a flaky, buttery layered roti, the roti was more akin to a thick pancake which was disappointing due to the high price. The Penang curry was fine and well cooked in the traditional way, but was quite small. The satays were nice. Everything was okay, but too pricey for what you get. The service staff are fine (other than the language issue) but they do spend a lot of their time chatting to each other especially when you need their attention. For the price paid, this is a little disappointing.
The food was absolutely delicious and very high quality. It had been a long time since I’d had chicken that tender in Koh Samui honestly. I was a bit unsure about the lasagna because I thought it might not be their specialty, but in the end it was excellent too. The staff were also very attentive and professional. 10/10 thank u
Gorgeous restaurant. The food was excellent, the taste, presentation and quality. The coconut milkshake was amazing!! But do ask for less ice. The only negative was the staff who could have been a little more friendly.
Great atmosphere with second-level seating that’s perfect for a bit of elevated people-watching. The space itself is beautiful — a thoughtful mix of old Thailand references woven into the interior design. It feels intentional, warm, and visually rich without being overdone. The staff truly stands out here. Attentive, kind, and consistent with every interaction. You feel taken care of from the moment you walk in, and that kind of service makes a difference. The starters were okay — perfectly fine, just missing that extra depth of flavor you hope for. The main dish landed similarly. Not bad by any means, just a bit underwhelming in terms of boldness and complexity. The presentation, though? Absolutely stunning. Every plate looked like it belonged in a feature spread. There’s a decent wine selection and solid drink menu to round things out. At the end of the day, the staff and location carry this place. If you walk in knowing the food is good but not groundbreaking, you’ll probably have a next-level experience simply because the ambiance and service elevate everything else. A beautiful spot to spend an evening — just hoping for a bit more punch in the flavor next time.
