Art Galleries in Koh Samui

Koh Samui isn’t just beaches and coconuts. The art scene here quietly pulses through small galleries tucked in spots you might never expect. Places like Art Samui in Bophut showcase local painters and sculptors who capture everything from island landscapes to stories of fishing villages and temple life.

One of my favorite stops is Tams Gallery near Maenam,it's a bit off the tourist track but full of emotional, raw pieces by Thai and expat artists. And if you hit the island in the cooler months, like November through February, you can often catch pop-up exhibits or artist talks at galleries that only happen during high season.

Most galleries here have a chill vibe, so take your time strolling through, chatting with the artists if they’re around. You’ll find art that feels more personal than commercial. A tip? Visit on a weekday morning if you want the space almost to yourself,weekends, especially Sundays, tend to bring out the crowds as the galleries sometimes open alongside market mornings. It's a great way to see how art weaves into everyday island life.
