The best restaurant we ate at in Koh Samui — without a doubt. The food was exceptionally delicious, truly on another level. This is a high-end chef restaurant with impressive attention to detail and creativity in every dish. They offer both a fixed-price tasting menu, where you can choose from selected dishes, and an à la carte option. We chose the second option and didn’t regret it for a second. We had frog legs, beef cheek, and a steak topped with foie gras — and every single dish was outstanding. Everything was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. They also have an interesting wine selection, including wines by the glass, and the wine we had was excellent. A lovely extra touch was that the chef personally came out to speak with us at the end of the meal, which made the experience feel even more special. To sum it up: a true hidden gem that we found completely by chance — highly, highly recommended!
We celebrated my birthday at this lovely French restaurant with my husband and our two children, and it turned out to be an absolutely exceptional evening. We chose the four-course tasting menu, and every single dish was beautifully presented and full of incredible flavor. The beef cheeks were especially unforgettable — we highly recommend trying them. This is exactly the kind of place that may look modest at first glance but is truly a hidden gem. The wine pairing was outstanding and complemented each course perfectly. Chez Francois Koh Samui is truly one of the most impressive dining experiences in Koh Samui. The food is absolutely delicious — every dish is beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and crafted with clear attention to detail. It genuinely feels like a fine dining experience comparable to top French restaurants. The restaurant itself is small and intimate, with only a limited number of tables, which makes the atmosphere cozy and exclusive. Because of this, it is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance to secure your spot. Service is exceptional — the staff are attentive, professional, and very welcoming, making the entire evening even more enjoyable. In terms of value, it is definitely worth it considering the quality of food and overall experience. One small drawback is that the wine list is relatively limited, which might not fully satisfy wine enthusiasts. However, this does not take away from the overall outstanding experience. If you are visiting Koh Samui, this restaurant is absolutely worth trying.
Make sure to book in advance. There are limited spaces, and for a good reason. This is a must go to if you like fine dining with excellent service. The restaurant is very quaint, there are al a cart or a tasting menu, a great wine menu too. You'll love it.
The best French restaurant in Samui! Chef François is still cooking himself, when we walked in, we could see him in the kitchen, and you can truly feel his passion through his food. The dishes taste amazing, and we were very impressed by both the service and the presentation throughout each course. We had an incredible time, and at the end, the chef personally came out to greet us such a lovely, thoughtful touch. Highly recommended!
