I tried this italian restaurant because of the good reviews. We'll, I was disapointed. The location on the beach and the ambiance is amazing. This is why you are paying the big price. The wine was excellent but the food had no taste at all. I was expecting flavorfull food for this price but it was not the case. I would not return. I paid 1500 baht for one person. It was one of the most expensive food and wine I bought so far in Thailand and probably the less memorable.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’ve eaten Italian food across Italy itself, so our standards are not easy to meet. Gusto Italiano met them — and then some. The setting alone is worth the visit. Fisherman’s Village is one of the most charming spots on Koh Samui, perfect for an evening stroll, and the restaurant sits right on the beach with tables at the water’s edge and an uninterrupted view of the sea. The kind of place you don’t want to leave. The pleasant sound of the sea and relaxing, pleasant jazz music plays in the background. Beautiful, stylish interior inside the restaurant. Perfect. The food matches the atmosphere. The Seafood Risotto was flawless — properly mantecato, perfectly timed, generous with the seafood. Spaghetti alle vongole - aromatic, tasty sauce of perfect consistency, lots of shellfish without sand, spaghetti al dente, as requested. The pizza was just the way it should be. The pasta was thin, but the edges were fluffy, well-risen and airy, the most delicious ingredients, high-quality mozzarella and tomatoes. For dessert, we chose tiramisu. Classic, delicate, flavorful, delicious, pure delight. And the wine: Argiolas Costamolino Vermentino DOC from Sardinia — order it without hesitation. Citrus, white flowers, Mediterranean herbs, and a mineral finish that belongs by the sea. A perfect pairing for every dish. The service is very remarkable and worthy of attention, where Thai waiters try to speak Italian with you and manage your table responsibly. A special mention to the owners, Marco and Roberta— true professionals in every sense, warm and genuinely welcoming. From the first moment you feel not just like a customer, but like a cherished guest. That kind of hospitality is rare. A truly authentic Italian experience on the shores of Koh Samui. We’ll be back.

Lovely place! We stopped by as it smelled so good walking by for our last night in thailand after couple of weeks of pure thai food. Genuine italian authentic restaurant with fantastic fresh pasta - the prawn home made fettucini was amazing, super flavourful. The texture of the fresh pasta was so nice. Honestly like being in rural italy. The atmosphere was lovely, we were able to sit by the beach and had a lovely time.

Gusto Italiano is one of the most charming Italian restaurants in Koh Samui. Located in the beautiful Fisherman’s Village, the restaurant offers a relaxed beachfront atmosphere where guests can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine while overlooking the sea. The setting is elegant yet comfortable, making it a perfect place for a memorable dinner. The food is excellent, with a menu that highlights classic Italian flavors. The homemade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and fresh seafood dishes are all prepared with great attention to quality and taste. Every dish feels authentic and thoughtfully crafted. What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the exceptional service. In particular, Khun Praew, a Thai waitress, was incredibly warm, attentive, and professional. She made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived and took great care in making sure everything throughout the evening was perfect. Her friendly personality and sincere hospitality added a special touch to the whole dining experience. Overall, Gusto Italiano delivers not only delicious Italian food but also outstanding service and a wonderful seaside atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Koh Samui.

Total Vibe Killer! The older dishwater blond woman (French Accent?) was very curt, almost condescending. "You don't have a reservation? Sit There."(on a bench to wait). We waited, waited. We saw people come in after us (without reservation) get seated. We were looking forward to a nice Italian dinner experience. Restaurant at the waterfront was nicely lit, airy, clean, the background music was upbeat and volume perfect so you could hear conversations. From the street they have three entrances. We were surprised to see the 25-30 tables out on the sand. Service was good, menu had many choices. Opted for the bolognese and the lasagna bolognese. Servings were enough to be filling. His lasagna had a thick coat of cheese which made it very rich, so even he couldn't finish it. Food overall was tasty but nothing special. We are here for the month so would go back to try again but hope to avoid the older woman as we are more spontaneous vs 'reservation' people .
